The Yamaha F200 V6 has built a legendary reputation for its excellent economy and unrivalled reliability.

The F200 V6 takes advantage of variable camshaft timing (VCT) to increase low and mid-range torque without compromising on maximum output and top-end performance. VCT advances and retards the camshaft timing according to the engines RPM in order to increase the intake and exhaust efficiency at low and mid-range RPM to obtain better power and acceleration.

The F200 V6 also features a single throttle valve that is controlled electronically by the engines ECM. This enables precise control over the intake of air, which is smoothly routed into each combustion chamber through the surge tanks and the long intake manifold for greater power. Long intake manifolds are designed to increase airflow and work in harmony with the variable camshaft timing to boost low and mid-range torque and achieve quicker acceleration.

The F200 V6 can be matched with the leading edge Yamaha Digital Network System. Which means you have up to the second information on the operation of your outboard at your fingertips

Features

3400cc V6 Engine

Featuring double overhead camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder, these 3.4 Litre, V6 engines are extremely powerful, durable and fuel efficient.

Variable Camshaft Timing

The Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) advances and retards the camshaft timing according to the engine RPMs. This in combination with the electronically controlled single throttle valve system and long intake manifold boosts low and mid-range torque for optimum acceleration.

Electronic Throttle Valve

The electronic throttle valve provides sure and more precise valve opening and closing according to each engine temperature and atmospheric condition. This system works in tune with the fuel injection and ignition systems, to deliver incredible response and exceptional fuel economy.

Compact In-Bank Exhaust System

Yamaha’s ongoing weight-saving program has delivered an innovative in-bank exhaust system, with the manifold integrated into the cylinder head. Along with other weight-saving technologies and materials, helps to create a supremely compact and light engine design.

Counter Rotating Propeller

This engine offers a counter rotating propeller option for improved steering control for twin engine setups, ensuring the vessel maintains a ‘neutral helm’ at any speed.

Direct Ignition

The direct ignition system with a plug cap and an ignition coil provides higher reliability and increased performance.

Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection

The Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, injects the right amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the optimum timing, for ‘first-time, every-time’ hot and cold starting, improved fuel efficiency, excellent throttle response.

Shift Dampener System (Prop)

Yamaha’s Shift Dampener System (SDS) propellers greatly reduce the noise associated with shifting an engine in and out of gear by absorbing the forces generated when forward and reverse gears are engaged.
